And getting only 2 hours of sleep the night before leaving doesn't help a bit! So I'm not exaggerating by saying I was tired when I got home. So much so that I walked right into a screen door! Ouch.

Heres a picture of our graduating class:

(props to Mr. K for the photo!)Willhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/17837424952058288943noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-12492399.post-1146498306514920302006-05-01T08:39:00.000-07:002006-05-01T08:45:22.186-07:00Panoramic shots
A pano of the quad from 3rd floor. Oh well, I guess that means Im busy with school work and thats a good thing.

Well, this is going to be short. Im supposed to be writing a paper. (Isn't it funny how you just look and look for something to do other than what you're supposed to be doing! Thats life I guess.)

Thats what it was, I just remembered. The retreat caused the drought in posts. After retreat (which was awesome) computers/internet just seemed so unimportant. Anyway, time has been flying, graduation is a little more than a month away. Recently life has been a blur of history quizzes, good ol' metaphysics, Lent, cafeteria "food," pictures, dancing hamsters, a recent square dance, and things like this:

No, Dave's drumming isn't THAT bad! The "quotes" post will be a collection of all my "Quotes of the Day". It was the most ping-pong Ive played in a long time, and the most fun Ive had in a while too. We had a little more than a dozen that competed, but the best were from the dorm. I got pretty dang close to taking it all - after beating the unbeatable Joe Stannus in a preliminary round, I lost to him in the finals, but it was awesome all the same. Heres a photo:

Here are some more - theres some videos too.

And I must include the funnies!
Willhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/17837424952058288943noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-12492399.post-1141860204693434802006-03-08T15:08:00.000-08:002006-03-08T15:54:59.200-08:00hockey and lightning and all that stuffWhat to do on a boring night in the dorm...well theres lots, especially if someones got full hockey equipment! The cast did an awesome job with the play and we are all looking forward to the next play, the "Taming of the Shrew"!

I took a bunch of pictures of the performance (probably too many!) and I tried to organize them the best I could on my smugmug site. Here is a list of some of the divisions I made:

Antigone, the Story - A selection of pictures presented in chronological order with accompanying quotes from the script.

The First Performance - Pictures from the opening performance on November 18, 2005

The Second Performance - Pictures from the performance on November 19, 2005

The Third Performance - Pictures from the performance on November 20, 2005

Backstage and Preparation - Pictures taken backstage and during preparation

Close-up shots - Pictures of individuals, or just really close-up shots

Wallpaper - Wallpaper for your computer I made with assorted pictures from the play

Funny pics - Pictures that you may find humorous

Search by Keyword - You can find pictures of each cast member by looking for their name in the keywords!

And of course, I have to include todays comic strip! I probably won't do it EVERY day but they should keep coming semi-regularly! Heres the first in the series:

As for whats been going on, lifes back to business as usual; I'm trying to get it into my head that school is still here even though finals are over...and theres one of those oh-so-wonderful History tests tomorrow to help me realize that!

Anyways, the cgshowoff site I mentioned earlier is constantly being approved and added to. Expect a lot more to come, so hop on over, register and keep coming back!

I came across this awesome photo site while looking for photoshop tutorials:
Cambridge in Colour
It has some really breathtaking photos in there - they show how good photography plus some basic photoshop skills can produce awesome results!

A recent creation:

Willhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/17837424952058288943noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-12492399.post-1138242804632876782006-01-25T18:27:00.000-08:002006-01-25T18:36:31.373-08:00PhotographyHeres a shot I took the other day right out my window...I took it in the late afternoon and then I messed with the colors to get this effect.

Im putting all my best "photography" pics over at my Flickr site if you want to see some more.Willhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/17837424952058288943noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-12492399.post-1138242104860277592006-01-25T17:14:00.000-08:002006-01-25T18:26:56.200-08:00New header, etcAs you can see, I now have a new and improved header!! It was done by Joe Carroll (thanks!) who is pretty dang good at photoshop... Hes got a bunch of pretty sweet creations of his over at Bump on a Blog. The two of us are working on a website/forum for that kind of stuff if you want to check it out -- cgshowoff.com.

Anyways, life is more or less back to normal here now that finals are over (pheeewww!). Sunday we went skating at this "miniature" rink in Manhattan...we basically scared all the other people off of it eventually because of our incredible speed and whatnot. Also, when you start playing crack-the-whip in a rink that small, it kinda turns into a game of hey-lets-see-how-many-people-we-can-knock-down-this-time or something... (actually they might have been scared of the three Canadians that came along!!) Speaking of Canadians, they are crazy when it comes to skating. For example:

Yea...pretty high, eh?!

So, while I'm at the computer, I figured I should have a quick photographic run down of what happened since break and all that. It was a lot more interesting that I thought it would be. Even though we didnt get to climb the stacks, which were about 600 feet high, we got to see a lot of other things...we got to look right into the boiler, where it gets about 3000 degrees! It was pretty neat, because you could see a stream of crushed up coal getting shot right into the flames...they go through 3 million pounds of coal PER HOUR!! Thats a lot of coal!

Heres a picture I got from up about 13 stories high...click on it to see the rest of the pictures:

Willhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/17837424952058288943noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-12492399.post-1131859256596914402005-11-12T21:17:00.000-08:002005-11-12T21:44:43.026-08:00"The Exorcism of Emily Rose"

A week ago or so, I saw "The Exorcism of Emily Rose." It was a great movie and everyone should see it. It was pretty scary, but if you're a catholic, you know whats happening and why. Although very supportive of the catholic point of view on the subject of exorcism, the movie never really seems to come to a concrete conclusion. However, it probably, and hopefully will bring many people to realize that beings besides ourselves do exist, and play extremely important roles in our lives.

There were a number of details that were very interesting. Its kind of hard to remember them now, but one of them was when she was being exorcised, the house shook so much that the crucifix downstairs became loose and hung upside down, signifying the inverted nature of the devil. Also, the fact that 3 AM is prime time for the devil because it is the opposite of 3 pm, when Our Lord died on the cross. In addition, she was possessed by not one, but SIX devils! During the exorcism, they were forced to identify themselves, and they ranged from Satan himself to the devils who resided in Cain and Judas.

As to the story itself, it seems that it was taken from the case of a girl in Germany in the '70s. More or less the idea is the same, but the details are a little different. Her name was Anneliese Michel and the incidents started in 1968. Her parish priest started the exorcisms in 1975, and until her death in 1976, she supposedly was exorcised dozens of times with no success.

I'm not definite that all the information that I found was true at all, knowing the nature of the internet, but there should be some kind of truth to it. Heres a link for one of the stories that I looked at.

There are also a few books that have been written about the case; heres 2 of them:

The Exorcism of Anneliese Michel, by Felicitas D Goodman (this one is older and probably more accurate)

Casebook: A Rose for Emily, by Laurie Kirszner and Stephen Mandell (this one is newer and may refer more to the movie...)

One interesting fact that I would like to note is about the medical side of the story. If you've seen the movie, you know that her possession was attempted to be attributed to a kind of epilepsy. After some research, I found out that in one half of epilepsy cases today, the cause is NOT KNOWN!! It cant be known for sure, but it may very well be that those unknown cases are cases of demonic possession.

Mike wrote a more review of the movie in his movie review blog, and made a bunch of interesting points in addition to giving a more complete summary.

In conclusion, I hope that this movie will scare the hell out of many people and make them realize not only that are there devils out there, but also that God DOES exists.Willhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/17837424952058288943noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-12492399.post-1131319929002918852005-11-06T15:27:00.000-08:002005-11-06T15:33:07.230-08:00HalloweenA few of us decided that we should dress up for Halloween and see what kind of luck we could have trick-or-treating...here is what we looked like:

Dont ask me(on the right) what i dressed up as...it was a mix of everything, including a cowboy hat!!

By the way, we ended up not having too much luck...I think I ended up with about 2 pieces of candy!Willhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/17837424952058288943noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-12492399.post-1130902506190334732005-11-01T19:17:00.000-08:002005-11-01T19:35:06.203-08:00updates for smugmug siteOf course right now I'm supposed to be studying for my mid-terms...so its time to waste time in the computer room!!

I've got a few new pictures of the college building, the Immaculata, and campus at sunset on my photo site.

Heres a sample:

If you want to look at the rest of them, feel free to bounce on over to here

Next up: My photo site now comes with video!!
